Looks like an old (20's-30's) football helmet.
No idea of its worth.

Default WWII Aviator Hat (scull hat) Authentic in very good condition

I have the hat you are looking for in brown. the leather is soft and strong. It belonged to a freind's unkle and is stamped US army Air Forces with a winged star. Tag inside says Type A-11, SPEC. NO.3186, SIZE LARGE, PO NO. (33-038) 44-6548-AF, BRADLEY-GOODRICH INC, PROPERTY OF AF US ARMY It has ear cups on outside with soft suede earpads inside. snaps, straps and all that stuff.

I do not believe that it is a football helmet. If it were there would be ear holes, and air holes. I think that it is a vintage racer's helmet, from the 20's to possibly early 40's. It looks to be in excellent condition if it is that old, so it may be a repro. Are there any tags, or markings in the helmet? You may have to slightly, and carefully turn down the inside band.
