Default 5/16 or 3/8 oil line?

What is everbodys opinion on the oil line size? I took all of the old lines off and was getting ready to replace them with 5/16 hose. Some guy out and says "never run any oil line smaller than 3/8 on any Harley". So's I gotta ask you characters in the know. Oh, 92' Dyna by the way.

Yeah, I was just hoping 5/16 would work since I had about 10 feet in a drawer. I got me some 300# rated 3/8 line and I am going to use that. This stuff don't kink at the bends. Now I gotta get some bigger hose clamps.

I did mine with Russell stainless braided 6AN (3/8") lines. A biatch to work with, but some tough stuff.

I know this is old, but just wanted to say...
I bought that same line, and tried to get it in there, work properly, and have a nice seal, but gave up after wrestling it for some time. Only way I thought it would work was to strip off the stainless for the clamp area, and then maybe wrap some grey duct tape around it there to make it look pretty.
Fought with it and then just said in the end, performance comes before beauty! So now I have some stainless braided hanging around collecting dust.

Told you it was a biatch to work with. What I would do back then is cut it with a wizz wheel, clean it out, clamp it in the vice, jam an expander tool I made from stuff laying around into it to get it to loosen up a tad, then fit it to the original fittings and use a screw compression clamp. Now, I cut that stuff by first wrapping it in black tape and then using a cable cutting tool.

X2 on the power steering hose. You don't need 1000 lb fuel injection hose 'cause there ain't crap for pressure
