shovhd,

I had a picture of a manifold that was successfully drilled to add a VOES to a shovel head, but I can't find it. I may have originally seen the thread on Harley Tech Talk.

I have the Dyna2000i on my 85WG with an S&S. I use curve #1 with the VOES. My bike pulls hard and I never hear "pinging". I set the timing with the "static" method from the instructions.

What kind of comp and cam are you running there Rob and what octane? I was thinking of starting on #2 or 3. I have to run 94 octane now minimum, and a bit of octane boost helps as well. Hoping to get it to run on 91 octane.

I wish I could tell you more engine details. I know the bike has a cam cause the PO gave me the original with the bike. I know the compression is fairly high since it takes a good bit of leg strength to get past TDC.

I use 93 octane since air cooled engines get hot if you're not moving, and that makes them ping on low octane gas. The 93 is just a dollar more per fill up.

Just try all 4 curves and whichever has more pull is a safe bet. It'll take you 10 minutes. Remember to cycle power on and off between switch changes.
