Default How much do you ride?

am trying to conduct and experiment of sorts to see how much saddle time everyone here does.
Also how long have you been riding the same bike.
Last but not least Do you work on your own bike or take it somewhere.

I have been riding this bike (89 FLTCU with 100,000 miles) for four years compared to my last one (85 EVO Rigid built by me from the ground up see picture) that I rode for 12 years.
I do my own work Except electrical including motor work.
I ride about 600 to 800 miles a month

Up here in the Northeast I ride 3,500-8,000 miles a year depending on weather and how busy the shop is. Customers get to ride first, I get to ride last!!!!

I put about 13k a year on my 98 Road King.

I've had this one about 2 years.

I do most of the work on it myself. I don't do tires though. If there is anything that I don't want to do I take it to an independant shop.

I also live in the NE in western MAss so I know saddle time can be scarce some times.

Yep, you're not far from us, we are around Albany. Lots of rain this summer so when it wasn't raining we were riding, even if it was just to the store. I think you will see larger numbers from the south and west.

I bought my 08 FLSTF in October 2008. So far, I've put 4600 miles on it. I ride every other weekend, and any chance I get in between.
I installed the handles bars, Pipes and tins myself, so far... Depending on the work that needs to be done, I will only go as far as my comfort level, then I will call a pro.

Here we have a 12 month riding season although during the summer the temp is usually in the triple digits. I usually average 200 to 300 miles a week with an occasional 1200 mile weekend in the spring and fall. I split the miles between the 3 big twins and do all my own work. If I'm not riding then I'm tinkering. I've been on two wheels for over 40 years and found this is the best hobby ever.

You gotta love them old flatheads!!! Had one myself na dwish I never got rid of it. Perfect for them lazy cruises in the hills.

I put about 14k miles on 98 heritage springer in roughly 2 years. I have a new ultra now so the mileage has gone down for the springer now. But i still love getting out on it. It actually feels like your riding a motorcycle than gliding down the road. The ultra is a little boaring to ride.

The last several years I have been putting in between 17k and 24k miles each year. Out of all my bikes, my Harley has been the one that has been with me the longest and has been registered and ridden for the last 16+ years. I do as much work on my own bikes as I possibly can....the last time one of my bikes saw a shop was about ten years ago.
