While there are several factors involved in torque/HP curves, with the EV-27 cam, my evo gets max torque at about 4000rpm and max HP just above 5000.

I don't know, if the bike reaches max HP at around 4k, why would u want to rev it until the valves float?

You and I have a different definition of "bone stock"

No idea no tach. It lets you know if you getting to high it stops pulling after a bit you figure it out before it gets that high. Mine is 25 years old and stock. Carb has never been touched.

Maybe just a tad off-topic since I don't have a tachometer on my '95 fxsts, but I am curious about the rpm that I run and would appreciate some formula or chart that would tell me what rpm I am running using gear selection and speedometer. Like, for example, what rpm am I turning if I am in 3rd gear doing 45mph, etc...

My bike is stock

Maybe its just me, if you don't know when to shift your bike by the sound of the engine maybe the bike should go to someone else
