now at a svelte 217 I am prepared to take a day off and have a slice of that pineapple upside down cake. Wife is into it! (the cake, not the upside down part, so much)
re- my harsh ride...went back to the original IKON springs and all is good in the world. BUT have the stiffer ones for our July trip. We're doing Oregon Coast, Northern Cali, Lake Tahoe area, then back up some interior roads home. You guys saw 'the load'. Not this time, but 2-up we will throw the stiffer springs back in.

Oh, if I eat grilled onions and sliced dill pickle on my double pattie, mayo and HP smothered triple cheeseburger, does that make me a Vegan?

Dale... anything with anything green on it or in it qualifies as vegan in my book!

Totally jealous of your upcoming trip to NoCal! I used to live in the Bay Area, and then east of Sacramento right off Hwy 50 heading up to Tahoe, and still miss it... lots of incredible riding there! Lake Tahoe is just fantastic. Stop by Crater Lake on the way down or back. Going south from San Fran, be sure to check out the Skyline Drive that runs atop the Coastal Range, too... that's one of the most beautiful rides I've ever done. And be sure to visit at least one or two of the Napa and/or Sonoma Valley wineries while you're passing through. Absolutely gorgeous country!

Thanks for the tips on where to go. Have just started planning the route.
My project is supposed to finish July 8 (originally May 30, DOH)
Then hitting the road.
So far just going by ourselves, but once the dates are set I'll see who else wants to go.
Been making sure all is perfect on Carlotta, and she's ready.
Although the wife is second guessing the size of the new (to us) genuine HD leather saddlebags I got last winter.
The guy sold them to me because he needed bigger ones. Wife was there when he said it. Double DOHHHH

Pretty cool-looking trailers, Graham!

My ex couldn't leave the house for a weekend with two full-size suitcases. My wife now packs less than I do!

Nice trailers Graham. Cool that they match the paint.
This year's trip we will be packed lighter as we are not taking ALL our camping gear, just the necessities.

Dale - as long as you're putting the stiffy-springs back on for the trip - feel free to eat all the you want!

Schwangster, let me know how you like it. Warning stay out of the house while it is baking, the aroma will drive you crazy !!!!! Don't forget the whip cream (not the artificial stuff like "cool whip") and a cold glass of milk or a hot cup of coffee/tea!!!
