Believe it or not I was exiting a building at the lab where I work and a pickup truck was parked up by the entrance. I saw the truck but I didn't see the bundle of piping sticking out the back. No cones or flagging. I was walking rapidly and looking down at the paperwork in my hand reading it and bang, next thing I knew I was on the ground. A couple of guys that I work with saw me on the ground and came to my aid, man I was hurtin.... This happened on Monday... Still have issues and probably will for another week... I know pretty stupid but **** does happen, I can attest to that.... Having a pretty bad year... This is the third time this year that I've been out of work... Really sucks....

At least you weren’t texting when you ran into the pipe in the truck.

How fast do you walk to sustain that bad of an injury?

Heal up, we are just starting the riding season in many parts of the country.

I got a call from the urologist. She wants me to come in for a check up and ultrasound on April 25. I guess she just wants to stay ahead of potential problems. Either that or she is planning a vacation.

Surely there was a security camera in the vicinity?!? Come on, man! We gotta see that!

Sounds like you took quite a spill. Hope you're feeling better soon!

Cool

Best wishes for all our poorly brothers!

Over here we at last have a sunny day and there is even talk of truly warm weather by the weekend. Is Spring sprung?! We have a local vineyard who posted photos of their vines a few days ago, plus similar photos from the same date last year - growth is about a month behind. So is the riding season.....

Supposed to be 'spring cleaning' the camper, so better get on with it.

Baby is sick with a lot of coughing and congestion, We have been having some wild temperature swings. One day it is 40 degrees Fahrenheit and the next it is 87 degrees Fahrenheit, so I think that is affecting him. It isn't slowing him down with regards to farting though.

I have had a problem with two deep Big ruts in my backyard. My backyard is very small. I need addition to the ruts, the dirt is slightly higher than my concrete patio. I also have a problem if inadequate parking, which was something that has bothered me even when I bought this house seven or eight years ago. The ruts hold standing water, so that’s another problem.

I decided to get a quote to have a guy take care of this mess and pour a 15 X 30 slab. I used to this type of stuff myself, but between the medical issues I have plus working at night, it’s a bigger job than I want to mess with.

The guy comes by and talks and acts like Jon Lovitz. First he told me $6,300 and I almost fell out my chair. He asked how I would be paying and I told him cash. He then dropped a thousand dollars but quickly changed his price to $5,000. That price includes dealing with my patio which is sloped toward the back door of my house. He is going float something over it and change the slope. He is also going to dig a shallow trench between my house and the neighbor’s house to help with the drainage

Is $5,000 about right? I was kind of hoping to get this done for $3,000, but it has been so long since I messed with this, and even then I used to form up myself, so I am at a loss on what is a fair price.
