That's the good news... the bad news is that Bertha has developed an increasingly annoying and messy base gasket leak on the right front corner of the front cylinder (it's at the bubbling stage...), and another primary leak that I think is either the primary transmission shaft seal or the shifter shaft seal - hard to tell without tearing in there. I'm not looking forward to doing the involved teardowns to fix either of those leaks any time soon, so I will probably do the old "newspaper under the bike in the garage" act for awhile. She runs really, really well - so I'm too concerned about her "marking her territory" for now!

Check the torque on the head bolts. As far as the leak you could put Royal Purple in the tranny and ATF in the primary. Besides giving you great lubrication, the color would tell you what is leaking.

Unhappy

It's deathly quiet in here. You guys all out partying? I'll do the washing up and put the kettle on. I see all the cake and doughnuts are gone....

and some freshly brewed coffee, black as the ex-wife's heart.

Gotta work all weekend, but they are paying me
How's that project of yours coming? Swingarm and belt working for you?

Good man!

Not long back from Scotland and father-in-law's funeral, so have lost ten days away from home. The 'only' other job I had on the bike was to fit new front brake pads. I have Billet-6 calipers and whenever they need new pads I have found the pistons don't all push back. So they have been away for service and are ready for refit. Once they are on, plus the exhaust, and a few final checks done I can at last ride the thing!

Only minor problem is weather. It is winter here again and darn cold. I normally expect to spend Easter weekend tinkering on the bikes, but we are going away for a couple of days of cheer instead. We have spent most of our time away clearing in-law's home ready for sale and are knackered! I can hardly bend down at present, I'm so stiff, so refitting those calipers is not going to be easy.

Wow, drifted off. Must be the sugar afterbuzz, low blood sugar.
Has another season started yet? Been riding to work everyday, but no long rides here yet.
Weather forecast is looking awesome for later this week though!

MJ,

Ugly or not, that is some pretty fine weather you have there! Easter is usually the start of our riding season over here, but it ain't been very inviting at all.

Damn, first Mike Rowe's Dirty Job's is replaying the alligator harvesting show, now I see you guys with the airboat in the background... I really miss mine. Gotta say, thats one of the few things I left behind that I honestly long for.. What a blast.. The bike is great, but anyone who hasnt had the opportunity to ride a small boat with a good driver, really needs to give it a shot.. Mike may be able to recomend someone...

Glad to see you guys got some time in the wind.. Hope your buddy's doing good..

Easy to pick the Evo rider out.... standing in the background but having the most fun.

If you boys ever hit a buffet all together you would put some serious hurt on the finances of the place. Can't wait to get down there and join you.

Air boating. eh?
