Not wouldn't but couldn't.
Well, in all seriousness, I'm not going to be getting one. Already had one years ago. Once is enough.

But to answer your questions, yes. When I had mine, pretty much my definition of "can I go there" was "is there any sort of road at all". Dirt, mud, no-maintenance, whatever. It really is an insanely versatile machine.

We have lots of roads like that around here. Farm roads. Stuff that has never been paved. Stuff that has never been paved, sees no maintenance, and might get used once a week. Those are Strom roads.

These are roads I wouldn't dare take the EG on.

I ask you this...
Will a strom do everything a dirt bike will do and do it just as well?

From what I can tell enduros aren't as good on the street as street bikes and aren't as good in the dirt as dirt bikes but they do allow you ride on both sides of the fence.
It's not an Enduro bike... not even close. An Enduro bike is basically a motocross bike with a tail light, head light, and a wide ratio gear box. Not street legal, although some are. What you're referring to is a dual sport, like the KTM 690 Adventure, Kawasaki KLR650, Honda XR650l, Suzuki DR650 etc... mostly a 70-80% dirt application, or a 50-50 application if you run street tires.

The V-Strom fits in a category known as Adventure bike, which is basically a 70% street bike and 30% off road bike. They're not really made for single track technical stuff, but can do jeep track, gravel roads, fire roads, stuff like that. My v-strom has a 100HP 1000CC 90* Vtwin and will out run and outhandle any Harley on the street along with a much better riding position, comfort features, and wind protection. Think sport bikes with neutral riding positions, and a couple more inches of ground clearance and suspension travel so you can ride down a rough dirt road.

Other popular bikes in the same category.

BMW GS series, with the GS1200 and GS1200A being the most popular
Yamaha Super Tenere
KTM 990, 1190, and 1290ADV in 19" and 21" front wheel options
Triumph Tiger
Suzuki Vstrom DL650 and DL1000
Honda Africa Twin 1000

Some other Italians.

Sounds like you are very passionate about that thing.
There is a V-Strom forum somewhere calling your name.

Facts don't offend me.
When someone goes on and on about a subject they are very passionate about whatever they are talking about.
FWIW being passionate about something isn't a bad thing IMO.
In fact I think it is a good thing to be passionate about the things that you are interested in.
That said trying to share your passion with people who don't have it or share it is kinda pointless IMO.

Thing is this is a Harley forum and I doubt you will find many that are passionate about (or really interested in) your V-Strom.

Most of us here have chosen Harleys for our own reasons and yes I get that you think that it is a terrible bike but that is your opinion not mine.

Do other bikes handle better than mine?...yes
Are they faster??..yes
Do I really care??..NO

I feel more comfortable on my '95 Heritage than I have ever felt on any previous bike (there were quite a few) that I owned and it is perfect for me.

PS man you really need to do something about your anger issues.
Just because someone says something you either don't understand or don't agree with doesn't mean they are insulting you or your choices.

I wish you many happy miles on your strom.
