I hate taking my bike to a shop. They always seem to take forever to get her done.
When it's comes to anything mechanical or regular maintenance I agree. But this is a frame up build so it's out of my control and in the builders hands.
I was going to build it myself but realized I didn't have the time. It's been there since Febuary and now that it's warming up I would really like to have it done.
We have the frame, motor, trans, Sheet metal, suspension, wheels and tires, and brakes all installed. So it still lacks some work. It's the bike pic in my sig.

It sure looks like a good start.
I hope you get her soon.

BTW it is an unwritten rule here in EVO land that the first start must be videoed and posted.

I'd be too embarrassed to post my first start video.

It couldn't be any worse than Traildogs first start of Bertha.

You got it

All the sheet metal and the switch housings get dropped off at the painters this friday, still tossing up painting the headlight housing. My parents own the paint/body shop, and my uncle is the painter, so thats a real plus. I will post some before and after pics when i pick everything up.

I'd paint it but leave the retaining ring chrome.
Just my 2 cents.

Well she's an Evo of sorts, but Buttercup the Buell is restored to roadworthy and road legal condition, after a long period of idleness. If you think tapered wheel bearings are a bit of bovver, at least they don't need to be replaced at the same time as the original set of tyres - at less than 5k miles! She's got a nearly full tank of old gas, so is popping a bit, but hopefully when the rain clears I can take her out for a decent trip, top her up with fresh gas and then enjoy the ride! I must confess these photos are when she was new, but she hasn't changed much:

Those kind of bikes make really great rigid framed, sub-400 lb, low riding choppers.
