Funny thing weather! It was supposed to rain yesterday Friday, but I tinkered on Buttercup outdoors much of the day and the forecast for the weekend is grim - and yet the sun is shining......

Second day of changing bars on Carlotta.
Going lower with my apes, to maybe improve my circulation on long rides.
Don't remember it being so much work a few years ago. But I guess that's what happens when you just ride and don't have to wrench so much.

Finding some areas that need some loving on my bike. Could be a full tear down this winter, maybe a repaint. We shall see.

It looks like you got it about mastered. I know when I changed mine it was all about making sure solder connections are good and connections are staggered. My bike was on the jack a few days on that job. I fully understand about one job leading to another.

Yup.
Solder and heat shrink the joints, then heat shrink the bundles. I changed the turn signals to the forks so had to redo that wiring, and added a new deutsche connector.
Then I had trouble bleeding the new front brake line. Just wouldn't take. So I left it overnight, and it sorted out.
Still need to change out the throttle cables. They seem to be sticking now.

But she's cleaned up and ready to go.
Pics when I get them.

I'm bracing myself for the prospect of rewiring Hyacinth in the foreseeable future, using one of these magic beasties, which will require some major surgery and heat shrink. Just bought a fascinating gas-powered soldering iron, that doubles as a hot air blower for the purpose.

Lots of mechanical stuff to get through yet, but it pays to plan ahead!

Make sure your throttle lock isn't partially engaged.
I went 2 days one time thinking something was wrong with my cables and the whole problem was the throttle lock got partially screwed in and I didn't notice.

I checked that. Actually took the lever body apart to look at the little drag shoe that sits in there. It was ok. Put some oil in the cables and they are free now. But probably still need to replace them.
I ride in the rain in Vancouver, and I worked at an oceanfront facility for the past 3 years. It has taken a toll on her.

Good news is the 14" bars seem a bit easier on my hands falling asleep. Got a bit of a ride and it felt great.
