Peace and Quiet with an Evo!

Good morning and Good New Year!
What a world. Tried to send a package with a seat to USA yesterday. Found a box that it fit in, but I wasn't allowed to mail it because the anti-terrorist act says no writing allowed on boxes!
It was a waffle cone box.
"All we are saying, is give peace a chance!"

Don't make much sense to me! Must be because they don't want the public to know how much contraband actually does get in to the country.

Can't reuse a box that has writing on it, brand names, previous address, etc.
I don't understand the reason, but that's the law now. And not because of possible mixups in delivery.

Big Bertha is now Big Bad Bertha!
Well guys, I finally finished up installing the new EVL-3010 cam (with Torrington bearing), and the new Velva Touch lifter blocks, lifters, and pushrods. Thanks for everyone's advice and counsel along the way!
After triple-checking everything, and then checking again and turning her over by hand for many revolutions to make sure I didn't screw anything up, I fired her up. The interesting thing is that before when she was cold, I would have to crank for a good 10 seconds to get her to start firing and run. But just now, she fired almost immediately from stone-cold... I mean like within a second or two at the most. I didn't expect that! But maybe it was just from all the hand-turning having the effect of priming the carb. I'll see how she fires up tomorrow after sitting all night.
Anyway, the exhaust note seems deeper and throatier with the new cam, and she seems to be quite happy. The idle sounds rougher, as I would expect from this cam, but looking at the engine it seems to vibrate less. Or maybe it's just my imagination... or delirium!
Too bad it's only 31 degrees here and dropping, and the sun has set. Have to wait for awhile for a test ride. The forecast for as far out as it goes is for not above the high 30s for highs, and low 20s and teens for lows, and possible on Thursday. Ugggh... Global warming, my ***. I hate winter...
My work here is done... I think I'll go reward myself with some snack modules, and reintroduce myself to my wife!

Yeah - it feels good to have it all done, and to have Bertha actually start up and run with it installed. I don't think I'll sleep again until I can take her out for a spin!
