Hey NGH, wich V-thunder cam did you end up putting in Bertha?? Before and after opinions and other parts installed at the time would be helpfull, was she injected?? I could search it, but figure I'd just ask..
Thanks, please pass the cake...

It's actually an EVL-3010. Similar to an Andrews EV-27, but with gentler ramps and symmetrical valve timing, 102 lobe center. 30 degrees overlap. Very nice cam, MUCH quieter than an EV-27, and great fuel mileage. Probably the best overall cam for a heavy bagger, but needs a few revs to work best... not exactly a "bottom end" cam, but very broad power band. I loved it in Bertha!

V-Thunder cams are made by Comp Cams, BTW.

I also put Velva-Touch lifters in Bertha (http://www.velvatouchlifters.com). They are absolutely the best lifters made, anywhere. Quite expensive, but they are very quiet, run in their own custom lifter blocks, and run at tolerances of .0002". I also put their adjustable pushrods in at the same time. I got everything in a kit from Velva-Touch. That's pretty much all I ever did to the engine internally.

Cool, I remember you singing the praises, but couldnt recall if it was the 3010 or 3020.. I'm thinking of going that route in the Ultra I just bought.. Might wait on the lifters, but they do look like good quality.. This will be my highway bike, so a little RPM wont be a problem.. The Dyna is still my backroad/mountain play bike..

You may be correct, Ken.

LOL! The Nova... clean forgot about that one! Not much in the looks dept.

BTW, the current Yamaha V-Max is a really mean-looking, liquid-cooled, quad-overhead-cam, 4-valve-per-cylinder, shaft drive V-4 that makes 175 HP right off the showroom floor.

It can be done... and in fact already HAS been...

ahhhh, the V-MAX

enough guts to haul my man-size butt around,
and they sure do sound purdy with the right pipe(s)

but way too many cams, too many carbs, too much....
and no stereo. Come on.

and I've heard that V-Max guys are allergic to cake...and porter.
