Peace and Quiet with an Evo!

Well we are down here in sunny SC, going to do a walk-through of the new home. I will try to post a picture if I can. Tomorrow I will go out and look around at some comericial sites to see what the market is down here.
Hey NGH and NGB, perhaps after we get settled in down here we could meet for lunch, etc. I think Macon is about halfway between bluffton and you two. It would be nice to put a face to an avitar.

The thought of a meet up quite brings a tear to the eye! I just hope NGH is not TOO like his current avatar.......

But Macon? UGGH! It is a pretty boring and not-so-pretty place to meet. I would rather take a ride down where you are!
Anyway, let's get together once you are settled in there! Would love to meet you and the missus!

Actually, that's a real smoked hog head. When I saw it, it just seemed perfect! Even has a cigarette in its mouth!
But does that pic make me look fat???

In case anyone's interested, just click HERE to read the article and see Buster's guts all over the floor... and then see him get put back together - properly.
The very meticulous Wizard installed new Andrews 54H cams, with Torrington bearings 'cuz the MoCo STILL uses the CRAP INA caged bearings... he said one bearing literally came apart in his hands after he pulled it, and needles dumped everywhere - but not in the engine... and these were NEW bearings with less than 500 miles on them! JEEZ!
He also installed a (cat-less) ceramic-coated Fullsac X-Pipe header, their 2" straight-through baffles in the stock 4" cans (they sound GREAT!), HQ Black Ops lifters, an AIM variable pressure clutch that I can now literally pull in with one finger, and a TTS MasterTune for tuning the Beast. I spent all day on Sunday doing 10 tuning runs, with the Wizard adjusting the VE maps and EGR settings in between each run, and flashing the improved map back into the ECM for the next run. With those cams in the bike, it was difficult getting all of the adjustments correct to get rid of peaks and valleys in the map. We still need more V-Tune data though... there are still a LOT of pink cells in the map, where the software is complaining about "insufficient data"... So, I will have to hook up a netbook in the saddlebag to collect a lot more data on some extended tuning runs on the highway, to really wind the engine through the full RPM range and at all of the throttle settings.
The Wizard is still not happy with the tune... he says we left a lot of it on his shop floor... but Buster runs like a raped ape already! I did some WOT runs in 2nd and 3rd to redline, and I had to hang on for dear life! Broke the rear wheel lose on one of 'em!
Heehee... I haven't felt this kind of kick-in-the-pants THRILL from a bike since I owned my old Kawasaki ZL-1 Eliminator 900 back in the day! That bike would go 0-60 in 2.7 seconds, and 0-100 in a little over 6. Buster is not far off of that right now...
Haven't had Buster dynoed yet - but the Wizard is quite confident that he is now turning an honest 110 HP and probably over 115 ft/lbs of torque. I want a dyno map to PROVE it, though!
Maybe I can actually beat Mike's 1998 Evo Wide Glide now!
