Well, I must admit that I enjoyed Disney immensely - even WITH two often-tired little girls in tow! I am a firm believer in the old adage "You don't stop having fun because you get old, you get old because you stop having fun!."

Going to Disney and having fun while you're there is all about Suspension of Disbelief and being a wide-eyed kid again... just let your inner child run free, and it's all good! We didn't even have very many long waits - the average was well under 30 minutes - even for the popular rides like Tower of Terror, Rock 'N' Roller Coaster, Space Mountain, etc. - and their FastPasses make it easy to reserve a time to ride what you want. I had a blast! Not doing it again anytime soon, tho...

DAMMIT, LowNSlow! I almost spit my coffee all over my friggin' keyboard when I read that! Good thing I have a keyboard cover on my MacBook now! That was damn FUNNY!

'Course... I think we've ALL experienced that particular little problem in the dead of winter... Bike's kind of hard to start then, too...

BTW, Graham... what ever happened with that 6-gal tank? I've been away from the forum since early January, and I would have missed any posts you made about it. Did you ever get it fitted to your liking? Sounds as if you haven't... how about an update in between your jam donuts???

JSH - I just wanted to say that your 2000 FXR4 is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! I saw a green one at the Ride to Remember here last year, and nearly bought it! It was one of only 800, I think. I've been told that the blue ones were the absolute rarest... but I like the color of yours MUCH better. Gorgeous paint!

Hang on to that one FOREVER! The 2000 FXR4 is (so I've read) arguably he best single bike the MoCo has ever produced, and they are getting harder and harder to find. The H-D engineers built those for themselves, back when crazy-cool engineering was still viable, before the bean counters stopped all of that extravagance, and when the MoCo was still actually making most of their money off of BIKES... not clothing, accessories, and brand licensing like they are today... ENJOY, and RIDE SAFE!

NGH...
don't dare tell Jay that the orange FXR4s are the rarest of them all, or he'll gouge me big-time when he finally decides to 'entertain' an offer. (did I tell you it's ME FIRST?)

Welcome back! You haven't missed that much. I suffered from pleurisy from New Year to around the end of March, it was also very cold over here, so I wasn't going out into an unheated garage for anything! Then we had our annual tour mid-May, so I spent April doing my winter projects, but had to drop the tank, figuratively. Installed a SuperTrapp SuperMegs exhaust and had the ole girl optimised on the dyno - lost one HP but gained over 10% TQ. Bike also runs much sweeter now, so pleased about that.

Been to Budapest Hungary and Ljubljana Slovenia and lots of places in between! Over the Alps and Vosges Mountains, via more breath-taking hairpins than I care to think about. You would have loved it!

Hey y'all, thanks for all the good replys, appreciate it. I like to tell everyone that I got an 85th and a 45th anniversery bike. I've had the pan since 1980. I tell everyone that it's been thru 2 wives, 4 girlfriends and 7 dogs it'll be around for a while. Wife doesn't find the humor in that. Tell you what I'm really appreciating the evo. Don't mind feeling like a wuss every once in a while, especially since we're on day 17 of triple digit temps. Little extra juice in the winter months, come on cold weather.

Schwangster, if get the chance go on the rt 1 trip. it's incredible. I got on at half moon bay and rode down to Gorda. Road was closed after that b/c of a mudslide. had to double back to Nacimtento rd and followed to 101. Nacimtento is native american for "goat path" lots of switch backs and tight turns all on the side of a mountain. Great scenery when you get to the top. Best part is in the Big Sur area, but the rest isn't bad at all. Got back on 1 at Cambria and saw the Hearst castle quite impressive. South of there the beachs are better and still pretty scenic. Got some close up pictures of the finish i'll post when I get a chance.

Hey NGH, I got to ride it back the end of april beginning of May. Lot more enjoyable temps even got cold a couple of nights, nothing three fingers of hooch wouldn't fix. When was the last time you were in FTW? if it was around 80 you might not recognize a lot of it. They've redone a lot of downtown. I know what you mean about Dallas, I try and stay west of I35W as much as I can.

I had some peace, not much quiet, and a lot of heat while riding the Softail today. It was great!
