Peace and Quiet with an Evo!

I've always liked that song.. She's definately got some talent.. I caught her doing Benny and the Jetts the other night when she got kicked off.. That was another really good performance.. Really cant stand the show, but I've got to wonder hor good the other two are if she got kicked off...
Been watching this girl, she has a Janis Joplin kinda thing going on. To sing Led Zep takes some big kahunas.
Hope the music industry doesn't 'sanitize' that out of her. Need a good female singer.
The other 2 are country singers.

I'm not a big fan of the show either, but it's usually on in the background.

Hrmm. While I'll take an Evo over a Twinkie any day and the Twinkies run way too hot and don't sound right, all the "Evo forever, down with Twin Cams" sound a whole lot like the "Hear no Evo, See no Evo, Speak no Evo" quotes from 25 years ago. LMAO
I laugh when people start talking about how as the Harley evolves, MoCo is going to start putting V-Rod motors in everything and drop the TC line. Sixty degree motors are not for me.

Time passages.....
I find myself in the somewhat unique position of having ridden through the complete spectrum of tag lines, insults, and compliments on the same bike.
When I let the Shovelhead go, and showed up on my brand spankin' new '85 FXR...a number of the club brothers made fun of her. She wasn't a "real Harley"...etc,etc.
I've watched as (eventually) it became damn near a REQUIREMENT for everyone to have an Evo. Watched the Twin-cams come on, the "Waterboys", etc...and now I find myself 26 yrs. and 248,000 mi. later riding a "classic".
This saga continues......

While you chaps have been partying on cake and chicks we Browns have been crossing continents! Back home after the rigours of riding to Budapest in Hungary, Ljubljana in Slovenia and popping into Croatia. Having commented on my newly fitted SuperMeg exhaust, the bike runs much more sweetly. It has now got the soft effortless torque my 89" stroker motor had and will ride along below 2k rpm on a light throttle with ease. That is 2-up with the kitchen sink!
We crossed the Alps via the Seeberg Pass, also the Vosges Mountains via the Col de Bonhomme. Plenty of nerve-wracking hairpin bends to negotiate! Bike ran sweet as can be, except for a rear tyre puncture in France, which sidelined us for ages. Had to junk my lovely 150/80 Avon for a darned Dunlop, but at least it got us home.
Highlights of the trip were asparagus in every land we passed through (yummy stuff!) and poppies, which seemed to be on every roadside we rode down. Sig pic is an update, of bike taking rest in France once more, not far from home. Total mileage 2,752.

Frankly we didn't take a lot of photos while travelling. It was unbelievably hot most of the time, so stopping while riding was something we did sparingly. Air-conditioned hotels were our only comfort, until we changed into civvies! I'll post a few pics soon.
