Thanks, Dale! Glad you like Bertha's new duds. I know the fringe look definitely isn't for everybody - probably only a very few, actually - but I have always loved the look of the old Softails with fringe, and how it flutters in the wind, so I decided to outfit Bertha with some.
My wife thinks Bertha now looks like a frigging afghan hound... I must admit she has a point... but Bertha is nothing if not "unique", huh?
It's all matching H-D NOS stuff I found on eBay, from different buyers. The Tour Pak fringe kit was a real find - hasn't been made in quite awhile and I didn't even know it existed until I found 7 on eBay that a guy had just put up. It has an ABS rigid frame that mounts to the bottom of the Tour Pak - but I have a 2006 TP and it was made for the earlier ones - so the holes and indentations didn't line up at all, and I had to drill all new holes through it and the TP bottom. It doesn't fit absolutely perfectly, because it and my TP are slightly different sizes - but it's good enough unless you look really close.
I can honestly say that this is the very first time in my entire life that anyone has ever mentioned any parallel between me and Dennis Hopper! I have no idea why... but it's true. I'm taking it as a compliment though... he was his own man and lived his life his own way, and I greatly admire that in people. He had his demons... but don't we all?
RIP Dennis Lee Hopper... May 17, 1936 - May 29, 2010. RIDE ON, BILLY!

Part two--- I am looking to purchase a house in NC, around the Sanford or maybe the Clayton area. Anybody know anything about those areas?? We've been there before and like those areas alot.

Black Tuesday!
Sorry to put a dampener on the great cake debate chaps, but we had a bleak time last night chez Browns.
Mrs B went out to close up the chicken flock last night as usual – and discovered a trail of carnage. Wretched fox attack! Three large birds dead, two others gravely injured and six miniatures just vanished, feathers everywhere. Cost us a pile for out of hours vet services to put down the two injured ones. Eleven birds wiped out. So for the first time in over 30 years we have no chickens.
Bleak day!
We hope a fox family somewhere have chronic indigestion, from scoffing too much chicken....
We have decided it is time to call an end on our chicken-keeping, in fact had already half decided. Means we will no longer be able to boast our home made cakes were made with home-produced eggs!
So here's in memory of happier times:

On a more cheerful note, having written the above, UPS just delivered my shiney new SuperMegs exhaust system. Got the Dyna in bits at the moment, so must get that sorted so I can swap pipes on my Glide.
I keep promising it a nickname, to go along with 'Buttercup' my Buell (what else do you call a noisy bright yellow Firebolt?), but I have yet to manage it. 'Hyacynth' is the best I've come up with to date! Unfortunately 'hogweed' isn't blue....

Sorry to hear about your chickens, GR. My brother has some, and had the same experience with a weasel. Funny how attached a guy can get to the seemingly stupid things. And nothing beats fresh eggs, with bacon! (Canadian, eh!)
What are you putting the Supermegs on? Dyna or EGlide?
They interest me for my WG. Seem to have great numbers.
