speaking of cake...
we are nearly finished the project and are commissioning.
So lots of goodies. Donuts every morning (9 dozen this morning, for 50 guys!)
AND pizza for breakfast too! (pizza is considered part of the 'pie' food group in my books, vitamin P )
This weekend is a riding weekend, finally, after 4+ months.

LOL, just because they are there (the donuts) doesn't mean you have to partake! Pizza and beer would do nicely!

Hi Graham, That you singin the Donut song. It was originally sung in an old Western movie. It goes like this......Donut forsake me o ma darlin on this our wedding day etc., etc.!
Im off for a few days tomorrw, biking & camping,to that that nice little corner of England just over the Border from you... Northumberland! Bamburgh Castle,Seahouses etc., etc. Havent been there for years. Once camped Near Bamburgh with the Boys Brigade. We had a FULL Pipe Band and used to march from Budle Bay to church in Bamburgh on a Sunday. Stirring stuff,as long as you liked the Pipes & Drums! These were the days! Steam Trains and camping. Then girls came along......thats another story! Have a good weekend. Bungo

Bungo,

I'll have you know we Broons of Bedfordshire are merely displaced Glaswegians, courtesy my great grandfather who fled south in the 1850s. Not sure what he was fleeing from! And a pal of mine is in the Bedford Pipe Band. Can't escape the things!

We have relatives in Minnesota. While holidaying in Northumberland not far from Bamburgh we discovered their surname is the same as one of the infamous border reivers of the locality. We wonder if they also fled....

Can't see a Smilie for a piper. Serious deficiency that....

Ah, Northumbrian pipes - Kathryn Tickell. Now there's something to smile about! Sigh....
