I like to go over and gig them on most all mileage threads. "Man, I'm only getting 33"... and I chime in, "Geesh, I get at least 50 mpg in town or on the highway. Last time I checked I got 53 mpg.
I like the new motors but I like my 1998 Roadglide best out of a dozen H-D's I've owned (in the past 35 years).

I have wondered, if FI is supposed to be about efficiency and lowering pollutants it would make sense that it would make for less fuel per mile driven. My carbed bike burns less fuel per mile at the same speed, and in my mind, that means less pollutants, less cost, better for the environment...
Simple math, because I have a simple mind!
(Hope the gas company hitman doesn't come knocking now)

FI should give us better fuel consumption IMHO, because it can be mapped to provide uniform air/fuel mixture throughout the rev range. But with early FI BMWs, for example, their twins were much less economical than their fours, which doesn't quite make sense to me.
