Low idle speed means the crankshaft fluctuates significantly in speed during each revolution, putting undue loads on the moving parts. It slows down on approaching each compression, speeds up on each firing, etc. It probably does that at 'proper' idle speed too, but to a much lesser extent.
My Super G is most satisfactory!

New toy for Bertha! Got a new chrome Arlen Ness Derby Sucker with a stainless steel covered filter on the way, and a Joker Machine finned chrome derby cover for it, to match all of the other Joker finned covers and the fuel door and console on her.
I like the Hypercharger Pro that's on her now, but I really don't like the way the breathers are handled - ugly black rubber covers on the breather bolts, with black rubber hoses going down to the backplate. It gets messy because the rubber boots on the breather bolts don't contain all of the oil mist, and oil drips out of them. Not a lot, but enough to get things messy after a few hundred miles. I hate cleaning up oil leaks!
The Ness Sucker has nice looking chrome breather bolts that vent directly into the backplate with no hoses at all. It's supposed to get here tomorrow or Friday. I can't wait to get it on her!
