1997 evo sporty oil change
I am still semi new to the motorcycle seen but I am used to changing my car's oil. I have driven 3 thousand miles on my 97' sporty and want to do an oil change. My question is this....what is involved with a motorcycle oil change??? I am used to opening up a plug on my car, letting the oil drain, changing the oil filter, filler up and go but I heard from a couple people its more involved. Something about a 2 oil tank and about having to change the tranny fluid too?? can anyone shine any light on this?? Are there any how-to's for it? Thanks in advance

i had a 97 sporty and i did all my own work on it,to change the oil you will find a rubber tube underneath and a clamp that holds it to the frame of the bike, take the clamp off, pull the hose free from the frame, catch the oil in a pan now remove the oil dip stick the oil will be draining freely,to fill put the hose back to the frame but do not tighten fill up with oil then remove the hose and let the new oil run out for a second or to,now put the clamp on and tighten it up,and then check oil level and adjust accordingly!!!!!!peace of cake
