Yeh aftermarket ignitions are sweet. One thing you can be sure of with points, if you are going down the road to someplace that you really need to get to on time, the points will have a different idea!! It does sound like the battery or a tired starter though.

 

Turned the points plate 1/8 to the left and the motor turns over like a drunken prom queen ! It snaps right over like its supposed to. I rechecked the points on high lobe at .017 .. Im happy as hell .

what battery are you guys recomeding for the Electra Glide ..?
Is there such thing as a USA made battery ?

 

I run a sealed AGM battery from harley. I was only a couple bucks more than from the parts store and my first one lasted 4 years. agm asbestos glass mat sealed battery just an fyi. I tried a cheap one prior to this and it just didn't kick the motor over the way i wanted it too. Kent
