Default ignition module

94 fxds dyna stage 1
is the se ignition module worth the change?
does it just increase the redline or are the advance curves also different
is there a seat of pants increase?

All I've ever read is that the rev limiter in the original is not there. You can get to higher revs, which in some combinations of other additional aftermarket mods will pay off, but not in all cases.

I am very happy with my Crane Cams Hi-4 Race ignition. I have not played with it much but easy to install. It has adjustments on it for Rev limiter, "stock"/"race" switch, spark advance, front cylinder adjustment. J&P got it to me in less than a week.

I went with the se after i did the heads and cam. The only difference i could tell is that it will rev to 6200 where the original in my 90 ultra would only go to 5200-5500.

later.............

I have a SE module in my bike. It made a noticeable difference throughout, not just the redline. My SE module actually has no redline and has been on my bike over 20 years. While a lot of people go with aftermarket modules like the Crane, etc., it is my observation from the forums that 9 out of 10 times, when someone has a "my bike won't start, I have no spark" issue, it is eventually traced down to an aftermarket module. Seems like a lot of the Crane modules go bad. And given that Crane just kinda went under and may or may not reopen, depending on how much more money the new owners can steal from us, err, borror, make your own decisions.

Ditto - I have been very happy with my crane Hi-4. It made a noticeable difference ( especially after they put it on the dyno)
