138K on a '92 5 speed sounds good to me. i bought my 90 fxstc from the original owner and dont really know how many miles are on it. he was the original owner and it was hes only transportation. he was in a club, not a gang. i figure the motor was gone through because it has 165 psi compression. havent had any problems with the tranny just wondered what to expect from it.

112,000 on a '96 FLHTCI, no problems. Been running Formula+ in it and the primary since the oil came out. Runs and shift excellent.

Wow, I changed the bearings in mine at 60k and 1 of the bearings were about to fail! Had the bike for over 2 years. It's a 96 FLHR..

1978 FLH 200,000+ and no tranny work except the sprocket and seal every year.

1987 FLST 130,000+ and no tranny work except sprocket and seal once.

That is some serious mileage.I wonder how many times you were rebuilding engine in 78 FLH?

Transmission (bikes, cars, truck) are usually unbreakable. Just do not harras it and it will last for a long time.

Taken care properly, they are built to last a very long time, that includes not beating them to death every time you take off.
