had the bike dyno'd this weekend
Local Harley event for 10 bucks got 3 runs. 65HP and 73 lb/ft torque. Tech said that's fine and power band was good for a 1340cc evo. Sound right? He said it takes big money to get 80HP out of 80" evo. Only thing done to the motor is the exhaust. Cool blue flames out the pipes as it got near redline, not sure if that is too rich, or normal for short pipes.

hey springerscott,
congrats on those specs, pretty nice for stock.
i just got my evo bike a few months ago.... it too is bone stock with perfomance HD pipes.
he told me it dyno'd at 62 RW hp. and i thought that was low? he said stock will run 60-65 RW hp. adding pipes just helps the flow. really needs cam and carb work to work handin hand. a mild beef'd evo (cam ev27) and all the working goodies with it will get you up to 68-72 RW horses.
NOW just for the record ..... RW rear wheel horse power, is REAL heart throbbing POWER.(real power to the ground)
your 65 RW hp is probably really close to 80 or so engine brake horse power.(engine output power)
AND that 72 RW hp is just about 90 brake horse power. so.........
cheer up,.... your ride will stand up and be proud, anywhere near your class !

Thanks John, good info. I might do a cam one day down the road. I like riding too much to have any down time other than maintenance. Mine was the only Evo I saw run on the dyno, all of the newer ones bogged in the low RPM, mine didn't, a good steady pull and of course it sounded the best!
