In '94 they took the FLHS and removed the tachometer, moved the speedometer to the gas tank, and added about $3000 to the price.
I think you got the better deal.

Now THAT made me smile, MP! The MoCo actually made the "stripper" FLHS through 1995 - but only as a Police FLHTP model. Bertha is a 95 FLTHP with a windshield instead of a fairing... the very last of the FLHS line with the "toaster dash" before the Road King Police did away with it forever in 1996... and like you said, at a much higher price.

I guess she's fairly unique - 1995 being the 30th anniversary of the original Electra-Glide in 1965. Doesn't mean a thing as far as the resale value of the bike - but I've never seen another, and hope I never do! I've dressed her up a lot, and you'd have to look pretty hard to even know she's a former police bike - the only giveaways are the little chrome buttons on the saddlebag lids, and the "Certified Police Special" on the dash... I've replaced and chromed out everything else. I even have a big Maglite flashlight mounted on the left front saddlebag guard, in a chrome holder I bought on eBay from a cop who makes them.

Sure are some FINE lookin' Evos in this thread!

Apparently there, each officer is assigned their own bike so it wasn't ridden by a bunch of different people so it was probably taken better care of. It has a lot of nicks and chips but that adds character.
Nice FLHTP!

Do your wife a huge favor and get a Burly lowering kit for the rear of that bike. When I got Bertha, I couldn't put both feet on the ground. I replaced the old rock-hard Corbin seat that was on it with a nice cushy Mustang Regal, and that combined with the lowering made it very easy for me to both feet flat. It's MUCH more comfortable, and much safer. She will thank you!
