Default lower shocks?

I'd like to get better footing so I'm thinking of shorter shocks for my 98 RKC, and maybe cutting my seat down a little, as opposed to a lowering kit. I think my stock air shocks are 13". Part # is 54565-97. I've seen 12" and 11" for sale . Here's my questions. Thanks, Shane

1. Is 2" lower too much, should I just go 1"?
2. Will fender hit?
3. Can I lower just the rear, I dont want to get involved with front forks?
4. Best to use air shocks?

Default RE: lower shocks?

Ikept the stock shock and had the rear lowered, I was told that the 11" shock would cause handling problems, because I wanted it lower.I don't know about the 12". My next step is an air ride system anyway. You should do a search on the different shock lengths or ask this question in Touring. Good luck.
