Default Lost the Keys!!

Tried to retrace my route, and of course....nothin. Anyone know a way to get the gas door open without drilling the lock?? I think I can get the ignition switch key through the dealer. The bags are easy, I can get matched replacement locks at the hardware store.

Anyone have a gas door lock with a key they're willing to part with?? Does a barrel key lock work on the early door??

ANY HELP???

Take the bike to a locksmith and they can make a key for you.

Someone once mentioned that any HD key would unlock the fuel door. I do not know if this is true but I would spend a moment to borrow a friends key and see if you get lucky.

yes ANY Harley barrel key will open the fuel door, change it out for a push button.

My local dealer charged me 50 bucks for a set of ignition keys. Had to show proof of registration/ownership. Same ignition as yours. Took about 2 weeks to get them in the mail.

trust me on this one - once you get it open, remove the lock and reinstall 180 degrees so it will not ever lock. gravity will hold the dore closed, just flip it up to refuel.
it will appear locked to a casual observer. Between the 86 I sold, and my 87 sidecar rig, I can account for about 285,000 miles. I have another seven gallon tank in the tourpak so I can run 12 gal total.

Ride hard, ride fast, ride far!!!

87 doesn't have a barrel lock.
