Default Realistic HP/Torque From Stock Bore Evo Builds?

Tossing around the idea of getting a FXR. My intent is a backroad ripper. What type of numbers could you expect out of Evo engines with stock bore, bumped up compression, cam, head work, carb and pipe? I currently ride a TC95 1999 FXDX dyno'd at 98hp/98 tq and a 1984 Shovelhead with cam, headwork (dual plugged) and a bit more compression than stock (not sure on the numbers). I'd figure an Evo would fall somewhere between the two power wise.

Horsepower/Torque is addicting.... the FXDX rips..... I worry I will be underwhelmed by the Evo powerplant, but the FXR does weigh a bit less so there's that. Shovelhead is slow but the torque pull is pretty strong (I don't hammer on the Shovelhead.... it's a classic!). I also know the FXR with factory gearing isn't great for modern highway speed.... neither is my Shovel and that's OK.... the FXDX will do 85+ all day long comfortably if I wanted to.

What are the proven combinations for 80" Evo builds?

If I had to guess, a mild healthy 80" Evo build would be putting out in the high 80s hp and torque.

A mild healthy build will not yield hi 80's And most likely if trying to bump the comp with pistons you will need to bore to at least .005" over.. You can do it by head work but will only get to about 9.5:1 static..
You didn't state the mileage.

Check out the link below for the Nightrider website , go to the right hand side where it says Engine Performance and click on any of the EVO links.

http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/

This Chart in the Horsepower Gallery will give you and idea of what might be possible.

http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/hplist_evo80.htm

But I gotta tell you that if you are riding a TC95 you will be underwhelmed with an 80" Evo. You can build a peppy mild 80" build EVO that could be fun to ride, but to get any serious power out of them you really need to increase the displacement, and that will be expensive and open up a whole bunch of other problems for you on stock cases and drive train. The pre 1994 EVO cases are weak and do not do well if you are trying to pull a lot of HP. I have a 90 FXR that I picked up a few years back, I picked up a 88" S&S motor real cheap and put it into the bike cheaper that I could have rebuilt the top end on the original motor. The S&S 88" is a very mild build but the increase in displacement is what gives it muscle. The bike runs real strong and is fun to ride, but with the stock gearing it's a real Pig on Gas.

It was years ago, but this is an 80" Evo engine in an FXR, static @ 10:1, using a Crane 314-2 cam advanced 4°, V&H short shots, Mikuni 42, heads by Dave Adams.
Upper 1/2 of chart is corrected, lower is uncorrected.
In SAE

This time in STD

Yeah just be careful what you ask for because if you put too much power into him this is what can happen.. I chased 3 more horsepower and it never got there..

80 is relatively easy to achieve with out giving up the integrity of the motor.. It's when you start chasing numbers that just aren't feasible for a small block build and the best reliable way would be an increase in cubic inch..
