As often said, there is no replacement for displacement if you want to make big power.

But, you have a lighter bike and can get more agressive with the cam than if you had a touring bike with an EVO engine. But to get the best results (not saying how much) out of a good cam for that purpose you will need very good quality head work, exhaust and intake to match. I'd look at a Wood W6H but there are few others that should be considered.

You want big boy power out the box, and still drop into an Evo frame, here you go.

75HP is easy to achieve, after that, the $$ per HP ratio starts to climb.

Escalate Exponentially rather than Climb... If I was sellin them 5 ponies...I would invest in an Optimistic dyno also!

So is the problem that the parts are not assembled in the states for the USA bikes, or the fact that even HD factory parts are made all over the world isntead?

"Harley-Davidson motorcycles sold in the United States are assembled in Wisconsin or Pennsylvania, maintaining its American-made reputation. While assembly persists in the U.S., parts manufacturing occurs worldwide, including Mexico, Germany, Italy, Taiwan, and Japan.

I've seen and heard of too many realiability problems with Ultima engines and trans to consider them a viable option. Sure, you can save some money up front and may be nice to look at but it will cost you in the end.

I’ll be honest… I’m into EVO these days. Was always a shovel guy. For 20-30 years I’ve been hearing about these bolt on parts still at 80” EVO’s that supposedly make 90+ hp… At the track the very fastest street bike evo 80” I ever saw was a 12.40 et. That was an FXR too. At dyno shootouts they averaged 60 to 78. I have seen a couple close to 90, but never over.

I’m not saying they are not out there. I just don’t see it. My 90 softail that was stollen was 10.5:1, roller rockers, branch ported heads and I think an EV51 cam. I doubt it made more than 75hp. I didn’t build it, I just pulled apart and installed the pistons. It had something in the neighborhood of 9 1/2 to 1. The top end was pretty darn good. As long as I kept the RPMs up, I could run right with the Thruxton’s, and various other bikes in the group. But off the line with that Cam, it was kind of sad. The Cam was supplied in a kit originally by branch. It didn’t have any markings I recognized. But when I measured it, I kind of think it was an EV 51 or some kind of clone close to it.

Your wish is my command, I even beat up on CVO 110s with this combination..
83" Evo .030 over with stage 2 Hillside heads, Woods W8 cam, RB LSR 2-1 pipe.. The mid-range was unbelievable, even right up to 6500 This thing was still making power probably could have went further..
Oh yeah and don't forget the S&S E with a Thunder-Jet.. Gearing was a 3.37 at 1:1..
