And I have .024" end play.

But now you guys have me worrying about the cam specs.

As far as pressing the cam. 3/4 of an hour shop rate at my Indy. And that was after dropping $1500 on new exhaust the day before. I wasn't happy.
3/4 of an hour to press a cam gear on???? That guy raped you and went in dry...what a stooge! I do them at home with my kitchen freezer and a camping stove in less than 15 mins.

I'm not trying to stir **** and Paul, Rufus, Spanners and myself we're all on the same lines with the same ideas and helping you.. I know it gets tough at times because you listen to other people and it confuses your mind a little bit.. Do as Rufus said Take a minute walk away think about it Go with a clear mind.. Sometimes it's hard to decipher where the knowledge is coming from and if it's accurate or not. Sometimes we like it because it's what we want to hear and that's a very common issue here on the forums.. Don't start changing anything now.. Get it all together and see if you like it and go from there.. The .024" is very good on the cam .. You'll be fine..

One other thing, I'm not against Hammer Performance at all, lots of great knowledge over there but they're not a low-end torque building motor company.. They're primarily into 1250 1275 high RPM Sportsters, so just take that with a grain of salt.. You'll be fine .

Thanks everyone. Starting a new thread to set up the rebuild. Last note on here is I did the breather gear won't need a shim. It's right at a tight .005 to the face of the case. Adding the .100 shim would make things too tight even with a gasket.
