As far as the Fuel system I think I solved it but it was far too late. When I got it the carb was wicked messed up running fat as heck with stock jetting. Look up my thread from a few summers ago when I bought it. Then the umbrellas failed and I’m sure the valve seals are toast. Basically a chain reaction.

I know it will be right when it’s back together.

the blackened skirts on the pistons is interesting but it’s not above the oil ring.

and yes I’m doing my best to keep as much trash out of the lower end. It was not fun as the corrosion on the head studs when I lifted the bores off went everywhere. Will be doing a few short interval oil changes. I have yet to see any metal flakes or sparkles anywhere so hopefully I’ve got it all sorted before it went to heck.

should run strong and hopefully not eat oil like gas when done.

****For clarification carb has N65C Needle, 46/170 jetting. Slide is drilled one size over and some minor amateur polishing. Fully rebuilt 2 times. Float was set a bit on the low side. But on the process I found my vacuum petcock Was sucking fuel down the vacuum line now replaced with a Golan Valve. *****

The OEM pistons came with a black coating on the skirts, so from what I can see they look normal.

Given the green light, either pack it up and ship or make a 700 mile round trip and take them my stuff to ensure it gets there safely. Decided to bump the compression.

What on earth are you going to do with 100 valve stem seals? Other than that, the estimate looks good & you'll be happy with the higher compression.

I saw that as well but only being charged for .04 for $8. lol and I’m paying a bit of a premium for the cam but they are saving me a ton buying it all from a local company and having it all done in one place.

***Cam is the kit and comes with new pushrods why the higher price****

Anyone running a similar setup? Will my current jetting suffice or be a baseline. 46/170 is my current. I have 48 and 175 and 180 jets handy. Needle is N65C from a Sportster and I have the slide drilled. I am going to do a bit better polishing job and recheck my float level and most likely put the upgraded atomizer in.

Well after asking a few more questions things are on hold because I was mis quoted the right head work I asked for. Waiting on the new total and if it’s over my budget, the crazy build won’t happen and it will just go back to heads rebuilt and jugs honed with some oversized stock pistons and a lower spec cam. A bit disappointed but I guess mistakes happen when you have a email chain as long as I had with them.
