Pro Action has a lot of positive reviews. I am extremely happy with their rear shocks, will be ordering their front set up this winter and installing them when I tear my bike down for paint. I think they want around $350 or so for the front set up.

 

I just bought these for my 89 FLHT from ebay Do I need to get the larger rotors or will my stocks work for now I know I need the adapter. I saw stuff about dot 4 vs dot5. These are brand new which fluid can I run? Looking forward to doing this.

If the calipers are brand new I really don't think it would matter what fluid you use as long as it's what you currently have in your MC.. As for rotor size I have no idea what bike they came off of.. So it just might be trial and error.. Your bike should have 11.5 inch rotors.. Hopefully you purchased calipers that use the same size rotor.. If not you might have to make special mounts..

 

Those Harley Brembos use 11.8" rotors.

Depends on the year, 07 and up was 11.8", earlier 11.5" and the later are backward compatible on the older pre twinkie legs.

 

No, it depends on the Caliper ...

If you use those 08-later Brembos with the adapters shown above, it uses 11.8".
If you use the 2000-07 Caliper with the adapter above, it uses 11.5"

I was going to see what Progressive will do first.. thanks..

 

So I called Progressive this morning and asked them about the sag and They inform me that a 1/2" sag is a normal setting for the front end and that the model monotubes that I have are not of the earlier design so their video that they have out there isn't the right video for the newer style monotubes where they say 2 spacers would be for 170-200 lb person.. I then asked them to send me a replacement for the one that broke, he said no problem.. So in the meantime I went to the hardware store and got 6-in nipple of PVC schedule 80 1-in and figured I'd make one and try it and see what it's like..
I made a 5/8" spacer, Well that really made the front end stiff for sure and I wasn't really sure if I wanted that stiff anymore... So I went back to just the 1/4"spacer and am very happy with the ride and handling..
In the video they show a plastic cup between the gas charged shock and spring and this was one of the main reasons why I took mine back apart because I don't remember seeing that.. So I'm thinking something ain't right but after talking to the guy at Progressive, it turns out that that's old style and what I have his new style.. Thinking maybe they should change their video... Beware...
Anyways it's all back together and I'm very happy with all of it... Just want to update...

Just did a 4 piston (2000 and up style) swap on my 95 heritage using factory rotor, factory master


and drag specialty caliper (chrome).
works like a charm! Way better than stock single piston!
