Wiring is just about buttoned up, waiting on radio, speakers, and battery to get delivered. Took the '96 battery tray and cut the sides down to fit with the oil tank in there and found a battery with enough CCA but yet small enough to fit.
I couldn't stand that touring fender any longer and decided to just go ahead and replace it. 100% the right choice.

The Dakota digital gauges came with an oil temp gauge, as well as the sensor to get the reading. My issue is my side mounted oil tank, since I can't install the sensor in my drain hole. Was wondering if I could install a t-fitting into the oil line itself to attach that sensor. Not sure if it should go in the return or the feed line though if I do go that route. Any input would be appreciated.
The battery also came in yesterday and it fits like a glove. have to trim about another 1/4" off the tray to get the oil tank in properly, but the battery will still be ok.

Got the radio and speakers installed, and everything inside the fairing all buttoned up. Outer fairing is loosely installed until I get the entire bike put back together, Just makes it easier to get back in if needbe.
also added dynamat to the fairing. Had a good bit left over from another project so figured why not. Not sure how much it’ll do, but I already had it and it’s easy to install so nothing lost by doing it.

Few minor things finished up. Got the starting system all buttoned up, as well as all the fairing connections. Just need to create the connector for the rear lights, and the bike will be officially wired.
Next step is assembling the clutch. Or should I wait on that until engine is back and installed? I looked at my clutch basket and it had a few cracks running through it so I purchased an evolution industries replacement. Should be here next week.
and don’t get on me about the tires not being mounted yet, just been lazy about it. Now that the wheels are properly fitted I’ve been meaning to take them in to get mounted and balanced, just keeps getting knocked down a peg on my to do list.

One is saddle bags. I purchased the bottom railing pieces off a '97 I believe, the left side is the same as my original ones, so no issues there, however, the right side is different. Wondering if anyone has ideas on how to mount it? I picked up a cable clamp and put the clamp around the frame, but that's not very sturdy and it slides. Left side has a bracket welded onto the frame, but Im trying to avoid having to do that.
