Drain plug is on the other side of the bike, on the bottom towards the motor (#5).
what you are showing, is removing the magnetic plug (6), to clean it off, once you do have the oil drain plug off to remove the lube in the first place.
Does the magnetic plug need to come out and be cleaned every time, not really, but swivel adapter and shortened Allen socket should work, if you don't want to have to remove the muffler each time to get to it..

The drain plug is on the right side of the transmission, just below the clutch release cover, just as the OP showed in the first picture.
Item 6 in the illustration.
No. 40 Torx
The easiest way to get to that drain plug is to remove the muffler.

The drain plug is item 6 in the illustration, on the right side of the transmission, as shown in the pic you posted.
This is the only drain plug on an Evo era Softail 5 speed transmission.
Use a No. 40 Torx bit.
Do not overtorque this plug, it can crack the transmission side door.
If the internal wrench surfaces of this plug are rounded off even the slightest bit, replace the plug, it is HD part number 739A.
The easiest way to access this plug is to remove the muffler.
