Default squeel from right turns

I was in West Virginia on my 95 RK when I was making rh turns there was a squeel coming from the right side of the bike at the rear wheel. Does anyone have an idea what that may be? Thanks, Dave

were you braking at the time? I'd be checking my brakes first.

I think your bike is a liberal and just doesn't want to turn to the right.

Oops, bad joke. [&:]

Could be a wheel bearing or adjustment. When was the last time the wheel bearings were serviced?

No braking at the time of the noise, I had braked coming into the turn so this was going steady and upon acceleration. I was thinking about the bearings, but I had tires put on last year at the dealer, I would have thought they would have greased the bearings?

I'd suspect the wheel bearing or the tire/belt rubbing when the stresses are from turning right. Raise the rear of the bike and see if there is play in the wheel (bearing) or or the tire or belt is rubbing on the side.

Check and make sure your spokes are tight. They've been known to loosen and cause all kinds of symptoms including allowing the tire/wheel to rub on things.

Wow a man says he heard a squeel in the WV mountains and nobody has made a "Deliverence" joke yet?

Strange.... My 96' WG has started doing the exact same thing. Seems it started right after I put new brake pads on, but like you, I'm not using the brake when it's squeeking.

Cheers... Ben.

Also, I would'nt assume they touched the bearings when they installed the new tire, unless you asked them too!
