Clutch Adjustment Issue: Ran Out Of Cable!
Hi All,
I've got a 1990 FXRS...about 150,000 miles...I was doing some PM work and decided to adjust the clutch cable. I loosened the cable...opened the primary cover (did the 1/2 turn back on the adjuster screw)...then went to adjust the clutch cable... I ran out of threads by about 1/2"!!! I know it was working before I fiddled with it...so what's going on? Any thoughts?
Thanks,
MP-In-The-Wind
PS...I did trying fiddling with the adjuster screw...but it's still FAR from working.

Turn the cable in loosen it - my guess the ball ramp over clocked - giggle the cable at the right cover side and turn the screw in to its original location my guess it sticks out longer then it was
then adjust the screw to you feel its making contact withte clutch and the ball ramp is all the way counterclockwise - then back it off 1/4 of a turn he screw tighten it and then adjust the cable till the lever has a taste small / of free play to the handle
