113 SnS rebuild..

Original Valve Springs were Shot. Going to AVnV Beehives. Springs a 1.880 set height will be the same as the old triple springs. Old Springs were 140,150,150,160 at install heights. New ones are all 172 -174. At 1.935, I'll need a 0.015 shim as the spring base is 0.040 but might need more as this was before I recut the seats.

The exhaust flow was phenomenal on this bench. Only thing was that there was a significant difference between the front and rear. Even the worse flowing front was excellent. I think it's the bench and tried to change the flow pattern with vanes. Picked up flow in the front doing so.. IMO it's the small plenum in the bench..
Heads were flat on both sides. CCed at 83.7 and 83.9.

Can you explain your thought on why the valve spring failed - your words - dead
does the valve stem top have a star pattern on it - or a single line rub < this rub is it centered or off center
you could picture up the top and side of the top so i see if its a satellite tipped valve

I believe the valves are Stellite tipped.. The valve ends likely have some schmutz off the Trock valve lifters. New valve have the ends ground a little weird tho..
1 new exhaust stem
2 new intake end
3. Left old exhaust ends. Right new exhaust ends. Left top (old one) has issues but the roller rocker looks good.

Solids or hyd lifters - the tips are not as i see satellite - the tip is 2 different colors what it is and a define line at the weld location
your height gage is displaying .700 is that because of the top retainer in location - .640 - .160 is a very thick retainer
have you considered a bee hive valve spring

The tip is 2 different colors. It changes about 1/2 inch down the stem.
The flow was being tested at 0.700 lift from 0. Past the max lift of the cam..
If you look at message #41, the new build will get Av&v VSK6500 beehives.
