Seems to me its a fair bit of weight hang of those bolts? just asking as i have never pulled the motor before.
Snipped the pic
The boss is pretty heavy. I used regular bolts. No way would I be doing it my myself without a hoist. I'm an old man... I've done it a number of times with TCs.. With the motor hanging that way and the bike on the side stand, it will almost be at the perfect angle.

my guess poway was hot this summer
Techally the pistons shown have 45000 miles on them.. When I originally built the motor, SnS sent me cylinders with about 0.006 clearance in them.. I assume that they may have been setup that way for nitro. After talking to SnS support they took the cylinders and pistons back to examine then returned them bored 0.010 over. New clearance was 0.0025 -0.003.. This was done back in 2002. These cylinders did get hot and that was from too much ignition timing.. Heck one time early on, I got the motor so hot that the cam and crank seals got hard and cracked. It was, IMO, due to too much ignition timing.. SnS said 30 deg, I finally went to 27 and the motor ran much cooler. Motor has probably been run that way for the last 40000 miles.. It was a bleeder for sure..

The 0.012 runout was from the pinion nut pressing against the cam case from me turning the crank backwards.. Pulled the cam cover and found the loose pinion nut, checked again and got 0.002"

We're talking about the S&S, a lot of the box chopper bikes late 90's & early 2K yrs has them or Rev-Tech crap they were putting out back them. The Moco had just got to 88" then 96", over 103 was later still

S&S 113' is a very sweet engine, in the right bike build it's an instant hard-on to ride. No hiding it when she fire up. I use to cruise through a shopping center parking lot just to set of car alarms everytime we had one in the shop during the test ride

You did well to get to 45k on that build.. What is the configuration of the heads.. Valve sizes, cci's, what size are your intakes and exhaust port sizes? Any porting.?

2.0 in 1.60 ex, 84cc, 1.8 in about 1.63 ex with hump. Ports were cleaned up by me. Heads will be flowed on the rebuild.

Nice.. With the smaller exhaust valve were you aiming at better low end torque?
