And I'm a fan of both late Evos and early Twin Cams both, having searched (and drove 500 miles,) to find one. '02 Dyna - A carbed, simple and durable motorcycle.

@Stiggy imo more of a boogeyman thing. Regular fluids and keeping it stock, they'll go 100k+ before needing attention. Though there's plenty of 30+ year old bikes that have had the **** beat out of them and neglected.
The clutch pack stutter plate can be a issue. But the one real weakness I've seen over and over is the clutch actuator fingers in the earlier Evo's breaking.
I'm sure there's plenty of horror stories to back up the other view....but again the newest Evo is '98, just like the newest shovel is 84.

Any of the non-balanced bikes (rubber isolated or not,) need a go through the fastener time pretty much at every service. It wasn't that big of a deal to me until I almost lost my right floorboard on the Road Glide once ) Fortunately with saddlebags, I always carry a somewhat adequate tool set.

Ah well, got her running. Good and hot, do a oil change, dam drain plug is stripped. Just ordered a timesert kit do it right, planning to run this bike awhile. Drained the trans and primary refilled....
Supertrap sounds good, solid idle..new plugs and wires. Found a deep cut in one, probably would have been a bit shocking in the rain
