Is a pic possible?

There was a bike I had that put me in the same place as you are..
I made sure it had a full tank when I parked or filled up before I left,
Find a way to make notes either on paper or nowadays many use their phones to keep notes for important

In your case I'd make a test run to see to figure an estimate of how far you can go before hitting reserve and then how far to empty once using reserve.

I still haven't figured out where to put my gas cap while filling up,, after all these years!

Had a guy we road with had a smaller tank, ran out of fuel fairly often, finally we picked up a popsicle stick from the side of the road and kidded around with him him, "if you dip it in the tank and nothing shows up on the stick, it's time for fuel..."

It was his AHA! moment for him. When not using he kept it in a little recess where the frame and tank met. He kept it for years. Never had a problem after that. I think he even scratched some lines on it to help him gauge where he was fuel level wise. Sometimes it's the simple things.

A group I rode with some years ago had a baby bottle you were supposed to strap to your handlebars if you ran outta gas on a run.
New folks were shown this before leaving on a ride.
As silly as it seems it got most peoples attention. There was times that 1 or 2 would go over to a pump and go ahead and fill up.

Here's an idea, take a picture when you top off.

But... If you take a picture, by the time you get it back from the mail off picture service, it will be like 2 weeks. Or do you use one of those 1 hour places each time?
