I guess what I needed was a good excuse lol.
Oh, darn…

Just curious

I see the rocker boxes are two piece vs the HD 3 piece design. Is it still possible to get to the rocker arms, umbrella valves (if they even use them), gaskets, etc with the engine in the frame?

Good question. From the looks of things, I'm certain the engine would have to come out to remove the valve covers.

I’m not so sure. I see they’re using socket head cap screws to hold the rocker shafts… could be they are recessed, allowing the covers to slide out. Or possibly remove the “center section” rocker box, then the cover will slide out.
I like the design better than the prone to leak 3 piece covers.

I don't remember exactly, but I think these are one piece valve covers. Nothing like the Evo's valve covers.

Comparing the two side by side, everything is just plain beefier with the Ultima engine. This thing is a chunk lol

She's just about finished! Unfortunately the tech is going out of state tomorrow morning and he won't have time to finish dialing a good tune before he leaves. But he shared a crummy video of it on the lift idling. Which is fine as I'll be stupid busy all weekend anyway.
