Your talking about this boot on top right corner of pic right?

I knew it did not look like it was sitting right.

Are you talking about 1 or 2

If you are talking about 1, it is for your neutral light switch

Thanks for that.

1 progonally. For by it was plugged before and light did not work not worked today test riding it after
spark plugs put on. Got home it started trying to work some of the time. I had not road it that much maybe 3 times since I cha get primary so thought maybe it was that. I’m hoping it starts working all the time. Now I noticed it and speedometer mileage going out when throttling. I think someone asked about that and trying to remember the cause of it. But it won’t go co pellet back on all the way it slides off. Like that last 1/8 it won’t cause it goes between the raised plastic I think and it keeps hanging up not seating all the way. Can’t really get to it either.

2 is one pointed out mine not sitting right noticed it did not look right. I could not figure originally how it should be when I saw it like that. I still need to try to figure it out.

It's not orientated right because the starter may have been rebuilt, chances are when the starter was reassembled the starter motor body was clocked a little off.
Also as others have mention the rubber boot maybe installed improperly. Anyhow if the starter works I wouldn't worry too much unless you ride in the rain alot.
