35-38 mpg
1996 FXDL with Thunderheader / Mikuni 42, some S&S heads (modified), pushrods , lifters.
Comp Cams EVL-5005 cam. Some transmission work with Baker parts. Not quite 10:1 static comp.
If I keep her 80-85 mph , I'll get the lesser gas mileage.
Keep her around 70-75, I get closer to 40 mpg. And the old girl gets down the road , real well.
Ride Safe,
Harold.

Switched to a Thunderheader a few years back, because The MoCo had obsoleted the right side exhaust wye. I needed to replace the SuperTrapp slipons I had anyway.
I needed to install some spacers on the floor boards as they hit the front pipe. Kuryakyn sells a kit. The ThunderHeader is a bit louder than the SuperTrapp slipons with 16 discs. It definitely has a distinctive tone. But I don't find it too obnoxious. I get high 30 mpg around town, and 40+ on the highway doing 70-75mph. 80", street ported heads, EV27 cam, Dyna 2000 module, and Arlen Ness air cleaner setup.
