Steam train?? sounds and looks like a head gasket gone.
A compression test would help about now to check for other possibilities.
The original problem sounds like a pushrod adj. as mentioned earlier.
Could be you need to run a heavier weight oil especially if you use synthetic.

Definitely sounds like a head gasket. You're going to have to rip it down.. Now's a good time to find out what kind of cam you got in there.. You need quite a bit of work there.. Make sure you get a factory service manual if you want to tackle this yourself.. We can help you.... If not take it to a shop and somebody else cuz whoever did the adjustments on the pushrods and whatnot, I don't think they were done right... Seeing that you're in Brooklyn I would take it to Rosa's in Huntington... Andrew really doesn't work on Evo's anymore he's mostly twin cam and M8 and he does specialize in shovels but he's worth the shot.. He's one of the better guys... Thought about this a little bit more and it's possible you got studs at mine that came up out of the case or something that's just way too much oil for just a blown head gasket and the loosening of the studs wood make the difference in the clearance and the pushrods and everything with more noise in the rocker assemblies.. Take it to a good shop reputable..

Head gasket all the way. That "steam train" sound is the air blowing out of the side of the jug.

I remember that noise. Yup Head gasket time. And as said don't run it.

Default Understood! 🤯

Thanks for the information. Looks like the head gasket, you guys are correct! My mechanic also confirmed over the phone that it seems like the head gasket. In this image I took few minutes ago, the head gasket seems to be peaking through... is that normal?

No the photo you posted is the rocker housing lower gasket.

The head gasket is below the exhaust pipe.....

There's something else going on there, besides a blown head gasket.. You're pushing way too much oil out the rocker covers. I'm thinking you got way too much back pressure or something and I don't like the smoke around the carburetor when every time that front cylinder fires.. Looks to be coming out of the carb.. ? Bad intake valve? I don't know something doesn't look right.. need to pay attention to rocker assembly and cylinder heads on disassembly... A trained eye should be able to figure it out but it will need to come apart.. Going to need to check cylinder studs as well..
