I love my FXR

I love my FXR
Took the FXR out for a sunset ride today and it was awesome. A buddy and I have started the Wednesday dinosaur ride. I only work Mon-Wed these days and it kicks off my long weekend nicely. I have this bike since 1986, got it when it had 1100 miles on it. It's gone through several make overs and top ends. It hasn't been my primary rider for many years but I still love riding it and think I will keep it forever. My buddy rides his dinosaur too. The once a week ride is perfect to keep it in good condition.

ENJOY..!!!!!
I'm still riding the 1985 FXRS I bought new in '85. Many years ago..when she was a "Hi-mile bike"...(with all of 70,000 mi on her) I considered letting her go and getting a new model.
Couldn't find anything I liked better so I made up my mind to just keep this one on the road. I've ridden her across just a bit over 300,000 mi. so far, and still enjoying the ride. Made a few changes and updates over time but not too much. The motor is a bone stock '99 and provides all I need. This is a pic from my last lengthy road trip. I'm 70 yrs old and can still comfortably run a 700 mi day down the interstate when I need to get somewhere and cruise 85-90 as long as anybody else. On this trip I got in between a couple of BMW autos right at daylight one morning who were apparently in a hurry and we blew through South Carolina like it wasn't there.

I believe those are Cycle Shack. The exhaust mounting system on the '85's is AWFUL. I've gone through a BUNCH of aftermarket exhausts over the 35 yrs. If I knew back then, what I know now...I would have left the ugly factory exhaust on her, and just did the best I could with it, performance-wise.
