Default Am I nuts????

After 2 years of the 111 I'm seriously considering putting my EVO motor back in and selling the 111.
The power is nice but 90% of the time I can't use it because of the roads I like to ride.
I kinda miss the look of the EVO motor sitting in the frame.

Put the EVO back in, put the 111 on the shelf, until you are sure you will be happy with less power

I also have a '94 FXSTC with basically the same build as the motor I pulled out of the Heritage when I installed the 111.
I have no problem at all with the loss in power.
Granted I have to drop a gear on the '94 that I don't have to do on the '95 but that's not really a problem.

Put the Evo back in then build a bike from scratch around the 111. That should keep you occupied for a while.

Nice idea but I already have 2 bikes and I don't really want 3.

THC, I haven't met you (yet), but here's what I know:

1. Like every other Texan I've ever met, I think you really like Texas.
2. You like really hot temperatures.
3. You like really hot, spicy food.

So the answer to your original question is, sadly, "Yes, you are nuts."

But regarding your motor swap, my thoughts are (as always): "Life is short. Do what makes you happy!"

If the idea of putting your original EVO motor back in your bike will make you happy, do it.

I can't believe it's already been two years! Damn!

My answer is that most of us are nuts for what we put into these old scoots. Nuts is what this is all about

Are we talking "Brad Pitt" in "12 Monkey's" nut's. GET OUT OF MY CHAIR

I say put the EVO back in and do a build centered around the 111. Not talking a meat and potatoes build, but a head turner. You got the shop and the skills. You would have to invest in polish and wax.

Yes you are. I love the power of my 111. But like you, I kept my other motor too.

Yup, wouldn't have a clue what I'm into my shovel for over the last 37 years. Probably bought a new one several times over, but where would the fun have been doing that.

That last engine was $5500 and that was 10 years ago.
