Shifter woes

I had similar issues on my 07 EGC and bough the Stoploss shifter rod, no more loose shifters or losing them. I actually lost it twice but was able to find them on the road later. Can't remember where I bought it but do remember the name.

Sounds like you got it figured out, Johnny. Good riding. Decided for once not to work in this East Texas heat today. 106 heat index. But have small cool front approaching with thunder. 86 next 2 days.

We got the same weather coming...after the heatwave it’s welcome....I got the bike set up to ride if I want to, though I want my new parts to show up I can put them on....got a road trip planned first of the month!

Been mid 90's here. Not real hot for this time of year.. Also road tripping Thursday. Had 103 days over 100 a few years ago.

Slow down guys. While you have that shifter linkage apart, replace the rod ends with heim joints, also called spherical rod ends. The factory parts have a bad habit of wearing out and coming apart. Available from most HD parts vendors, or NAPA.

Well, wonder of wonders....new link came in and lo.....it has heim joints! So I one upped myself!
