Bike cut out lost power

Default Bike cut out lost power

1990 fxrs Bike died no power , ticking noise coming from main breaker. disconnected battery negative cable sparking. ?
Had the same problem last week and tore all apart looking for a short. put it back together and it fired up . can anyone suggest the problem

replace the main breaker.

As Bagga mentioned, did you replace the main breaker? If you did, then it is time to start looking for a dead short. D

Even if the breaker was bad it would not cause the sparking...you should have some other breakers...disconnect them one at a time, and see which one eliminates the sparking...

This will give you a clue which circuit has the short...

followed advice found that the ignition wire(red) at switch was worn through. repaired wire and bike fired up as normal. Thank you so much for the advice,
