Get an HD parts book and have the p/n written down when you go to the dealership. NEVER tell those monkeys what the part is for. Tell them your brother in law sent you over to pick it up and all you know is it's for a Harley. If the parts guy says he can't find the part without knowing what bike you have, RUN!!!!!! Cause when you tell them it's for an old ancient EVO they will spit out the auto response, "we don't have parts for bikes that old" and send you to sales. They have those parts. I've bought parts for my ironhead right from the counter. Also, some of those parts guys are real boneheads. You have to be careful.

When I bought oil filters, I got a case of them online on the cheap. I think they were around $2-$3 a copy. Stock up and save.

I won't run a filter with an anti drainback valve in my EVO nor my Shovel... Y'all do what ya want.
Yea, and By all means get the smallest Micron rating possible... especially if yer filter is on the Return Side..... NOT!!!!!

Can't go wrong with what was originally Called out, 63796-77A
On Shovelheads in general... The Perform Drop in
EVO and Shovel [Ironhead also] Spin-on, Wix 51215 [NAPA 1215]
If Metric [aftermarket Housing] WIX 51032 seems As good as any... with No ADB valve...
Not owning a setup with the oil tank under the Tranny... I see Zero desire for an ADB valve...
I would take the time to study carefully if the under Tranny Tank requires one... But, all indications are that the Oil is Still gravity feed to the Pump... So.... No ADB valve...

Lord have mercy....I have access to two HD dealers and both will bend over backwards to get you what you want, no matter how old a bike it is! And they don't care if they have to flip through paper catalogs either....it's a given that some older parts are obsoleted by Harley, but tons of aftermarket manufacturers take up the slack. My dealers have ALL those catalogs and use them.

That would be nice. These guys seem more focused on tatoo design.
